Tabata training is a form of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It was developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata and the the coach of the Japanese Olympic Speed Skating team to increase athletic performance. It consists of 6 HIGH INTENSITY exercises, each performed for 8 rounds of 20 seconds with a rest period of 10 seconds. The combination of short bursts of high intensity, combined with very short periods of rest provides an effective workout in a short period of time. This combination also burns fat by elevating the rate of calorie burn for hours after your workout. (While you are resting!)
This is designed to stretch your comfort zone! While it is intense, participants are encouraged to work within THEIR OWN highest level of intensity, which varies from person to person. Levels of intensity and modifications are provided. This class is sure to increase endurance, strength when done 1-2 times per week.

Each exercise in a given Tabata workout lasts only four minutes:

Workout hard for 20 seconds
Rest for 10 seconds
Complete 8 rounds
